Our Story

Quality 1st Contracting was started in 1986 as a condominium maintenance company. Owner Tom and his team were busy working on condominiums all over New Jersey, keeping the grounds neat and clean and tackling handyman-type tasks for the property managers.

As the company grew, so did its areas of expertise. Tom expanded the company's core services from maintenance and small repairs, to contracting.

Soon, Quality 1st Contracting began tackling big jobs, like concrete repair and leveling. It quickly became the local authority for concrete needs within the condominium community. In fact, we had to start our own concrete delivery company, Quality Concrete, to keep up with the volume! We now have the competitive edge on bidding all concrete work.

In addition to concrete jobs, Quality 1st Contracting has developed expertise to tackle other tough repairs as well. They include basement and crawl space waterproofing, foundation repairs, building repairs, drainage solutions, deck and balcony sealing and repairs (we’re certified Duradek dealers), structural repairs (including roofs and siding), and emergency repairs, and more.

Quality 1st Contracting has become the largest condominium maintenance and construction firm in the region. It continues to work exclusively in condo communities. By specializing in this niche every day, we have developed great relationships with the most notable engineers in the property management community. We have intimate knowledge of the full process of bidding, board meetings, and engineer approvals.

The Quality 1st Contracting team is the only team you want on the job. We have several employees with 20-plus years of service at Quality 1st. Our staff understands the nuances of working in our communities with property managers.

Our staff is required to stay continually educated with today’s new building sciences and techniques. Our long working history in the condo industry has given us a working knowledge of many problems you will experience as a property manager.
