Contracting Services Case Studies: 60 Acres Condominium Association

Monday, April 22nd, 2013 by Tom Roman

Challenge

Located in the northern end of Jackson, New Jersey 60 Acres is currently the largest condo complex in Ocean County. It was originally built in the late 1980’s and has almost 900 homes. When the management noticed that a tree was causing one of the retaining walls within 60 acres to bow, they decided to contact Quality 1st Contracting to have the tree stump removed and build a new retaining wall. The retaining wall in place was old, failing, bowing, unpleasant to they eye and worst of all unsafe.

Solution

Quality 1st Contracting began the project by removing and disposing of the existing retaining walls. After removing the wall the Quality 1st team removed the landscaping, tree stump, in the construction area. They then installed and maintained specified soil erosion and sediment control measures. The team lead by Saul Castro installed 3 segmental, precast concrete block retaining walls and a white vinyl fence in just 3 weeks. The management company representatives as well as the residents of 60 acres were more than pleased with the construction of the new wall.
